Responsibilities
- Process and post billing statements manually and electronically.
- Accept and reconcile payments from patients and insurance providers.
- Prepare and manage payment batches and deposits.
- Conduct audits of billing cycles to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review and assess Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies.
- Maintain accurate billing records and report discrepancies to accounting.
- Create and submit invoices according to company protocols.
- Update and maintain customer files, including changes in contact or billing information.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and ensure timely collections.
- Process account adjustments and assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Maintain bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support financial reporting and compliance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
- Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in data entry and typing (minimum 45–60 WPM).
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with EOBs and insurance billing procedures.
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and general accounting practices.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and financial software systems.
