• The KKR
• Public Policy team seeks to hire an Analyst based in Washington, D.C. who will be fully dedicated to supporting Global Atlantic Financial Group, KKR’s life insurance and reinsurance business. The position will report to the Managing Director, Regulatory & Government Affairs, Insurance.
• The individual will monitor and analyze insurance regulatory and public policy developments, help the team to assess their potential implications for Global Atlantic, and translate complex issues into actionable intelligence for senior executives and business leaders.
• The Analyst will work closely with Global Atlantic leadership, including senior legal and regulatory stakeholders, and will support engagement with regulators, policymakers, trade associations, and other external stakeholders.
• The role requires strong judgment, analytical and communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly commercial environment. This is an in-office position and requires working from KKR’s Washington, D.C. office five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Insurance Regulatory and Legislative Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor, track, and analyze U.S. state insurance regulatory and legislative developments, including activity involving state insurance departments, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), the National Organization of Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Associations (NOLHGA), and the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL). Assess emerging risks and opportunities for Global Atlantic and provide timely, targeted updates to senior executives and other internal stakeholders.
• Executive Communications and Presentations: Develop clear, concise, and polished presentations, briefing materials, regulatory updates, and other content for Global Atlantic and KKR senior executives and other senior stakeholders.
• Regulator and Policymaker Engagement: Prepare briefing notes, background materials, and related content for senior executives ahead of meetings with insurance regulators, policymakers, and other government officials, and support preparation and follow-up associated with those engagements.
• Regulatory Priorities and Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, KCS, Bermuda, Risk, and other business functions to coordinate engagement on key regulatory and policy issues, maintain internal regulatory-priorities materials and dashboards, and support consistent and effective reporting to senior leadership.
• Regulatory Reporting and Analysis: Develop internal reports and analyses that synthesize regulatory developments, identify emerging themes, and explain potential implications for Global Atlantic’s business, strategic priorities, and operating environment.
• Relevant Insurance Trades: Track discussions, initiatives, and emerging issues across relevant insurance trade associations; synthesize key developments; and provide targeted updates to appropriate internal subject-matter experts and senior stakeholders.
• International Insurance Policy: Monitor relevant international insurance supervisory and financial-policy developments, including work involving the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bank for International Settlements (BIS), Financial Stability Board (FSB), and other relevant institutions, and assess potential implications for U.S. insurance regulation and Global Atlantic.
• External Advisors and Consultants: Help manage and leverage external advisors and consultants to source timely policy and regulatory intelligence, deepen the team’s understanding of emerging issues, and support efforts to advance Global Atlantic’s positions on key regulatory and public policy priorities.
• Travel and External Engagement: Travel as needed to represent Global Atlantic at industry conferences and meetings with insurance regulators, policymakers, and other external stakeholders, and to support senior executives in connection with relevant external engagements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years of meaningful private-sector experience is required, preferably, in public policy, government and/or regulatory affairs, insurance, or related industries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop high-quality materials for senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools thoughtfully to improve the consistency, quality, and efficiency of recurring workflows.
• Strong presentation capabilities and comfort communicating with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of the U.S. state-based insurance regulatory system, including familiarity with the NAIC.
• Knowledge of the interplay among U.S. state and federal policymakers, and the ability to assess how developments across jurisdictions may affect Global Atlantic.
• General familiarity with the U.S. federal policy landscape and the legislative, regulatory, and political dynamics relevant to financial services and insurance.
• General understanding of international insurance supervisory dynamics and relevant institutions, including the IAIS, IMF, BIS, and FSB.
• Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills – can develop trusted relationships with a variety of constituents, build credibility quickly, and partner effectively with others.
• Ability to prioritize among competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to quickly learn complex insurance, reinsurance, accounting, financial, capital, and regulatory concepts and translate them clearly for different audiences.

• This is the expected annual base salary range for this Washington DC-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
