Responsibilities
- • Prepare patients for appointments and ensure comfort in exam rooms
- • Complete patient intake including medical, social, and surgical histories
- • Obtain vital signs and document accurately in athenahealth EMR
- • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, including taking X-rays
- • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam and X-ray rooms
- • Sterilize equipment according to clinical standards
- • Conduct health assessments with Upperline Plus patients
- • Perform telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care
- • Support care coordination activities such as scheduling and referrals
- • Travel to nearby clinics as needed
- • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred
- X-ray experience a plus
- Care coordination or care management experience preferred
- Experience working with geriatric patients is ideal
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with EMR systems; athenahealth preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service mindset
- Reliable transportation required
