Job description
- The IT Analytics Intern will have the opportunity to gain fantastic hands-on experience and build a resume with corporate mentorship and exposure to the field of business analysis, data science, reporting and IT. The Analytics Intern will work with the IT Team to gain meaningful insights and analyze data that can help the team make informed decisions, improve efficiency, and enhance overall IT performance. To excel as an IT Analytics Intern, it's essential to have a solid understanding of data analysis techniques, clear documentation skills, critical thinking and a strong interest in information technology. Additionally, a willingness to learn, adapt, and solve complex IT challenges is highly valuable in this role. The intern will be joining the team at an exciting and critical point as SOFG will have just gone live with SAP across our core business functions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering detailed data, analyzing and developing recommendations to assist our business partners with utilizing SAP to complete their roles
- Play a key role in gathering data related to the SAP project
- Collect and document defects identified during the testing phases of the SAP implementation
- Analyze trends in SAP data and defect reports to identify areas for improvement
- Manage, interpret, and validate data
- Work cross-functionally with other areas of the business, contributing to priority transformation initiatives
- Create and manage operational reports that provide valuable insights to the stakeholders
- Adapt to rapidly changing requirements and priorities
- Perform data analysis and recommend opportunities for process improvements
- Facilitate communications to clarify requirements with key business stakeholders
- Develop recommendations from analysis
- Present recommendations to senior management
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree as a Junior or Senior student, or recent graduate on path for Data Analytics, Computer Science or Information Systems or related field
- Previous retail experience preferred
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent communications skills and able to succeed in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (i.e. ability to create charts, graphs, pivot tables, advanced formulas, statistical tools, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery
- Exposure to SAP reporting solutions including SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP Datasphere is a plus
- Strong blend of analytical and creative problem-solving skills
