Job description

• Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Land Development Engineer to support our growing Florida operations. This position will focus on site development design, permitting, and project delivery for a variety of residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal projects.
• You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, managing design efforts, and coordinating directly with clients and regulatory agencies across Florida.

Responsibilities

• Site grading and drainage plans
• Stormwater management and water quality systems
• Water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure
• Roadway and access design
• Prepare and oversee construction drawings, calculations, and specifications
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater systems and drainage basins
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and or MicroStation and related design software for production and design leadership
• Lead permitting efforts for land development projects
• Prepare and submit permit applications and respond to RFIs/RAIs through approval
• Ensure compliance with Florida agencies (FDEP, Water Management Districts, local municipalities)
• Meet with clients to establish project vision, scope, and design intent
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and regulatory agencies
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining budgets, schedules, and quality standards
• Provide quality control review of plans and calculations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer license in Florida
• 5+ years of land development engineering experience
• Experience in site design, grading, drainage, and utilities
• Strong knowledge in stormwater design and permitting in Florida
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
• Experience managing or independently executing design tasks and projects
• Ability to multi-task across projects and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering plans and surveys

• Compensation: The pay range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
