• The Pharmacy Technician II – Certified supports the Pharmacists and healthcare team(s) by ensuring the safe and efficient preparation, dispensing, and management of medications within the hospital or healthcare facility. This position requires advanced technical skills and in-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication preparation, sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory management, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Pharmacy Technician II is also responsible for maintaining accurate records, providing exceptional customer service to patients and staff, and collaborating with pharmacists to optimize patient care. Responsibilities

• Supports the Pharmacists and healthcare team(s) by ensuring the safe and efficient preparation, dispensing, and management of medications within the hospital or healthcare facility.
• Requires advanced technical skills and in-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations, including medication preparation, sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory management, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate records, providing exceptional customer service to patients and staff, and collaborating with pharmacists to optimize patient care.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; successful completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program is preferred
• Experience: Three or more years of pharmacy technician experience in a retail setting preferred
• Licenses/Certificates: Alabama Pharmacy Technician Registration Required; Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) or C-NHA-Certified Pharmacy techncialn required to be completed within 6 months of hire
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, medication preparation, and compounding techniques.
• Proficiency in operating pharmacy systems, including automated dispensing machines and inventory management software.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and record-keeping.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, pharmacists, and healthcare staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and hospital policies related to pharmacy operations,.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
