• As a Senior Product Manager, Merchant, you will own how Mudflap builds products and experiences for the merchants at the heart of our marketplace. You’ll spend significant time directly with our merchant partners, developing a deep understanding of their businesses, identifying opportunities to create value for both merchants and carriers, and turning those insights into product strategy.
• This is a highly external, relationship-driven product role. We’re looking for someone who can independently build credibility with sophisticated partners while bringing the product judgment to look beyond individual requests and identify bigger opportunities. You might hear a merchant describe a business challenge and see the opportunity for a new capability, a better workflow, or a new way for merchants to use pricing and promotions to drive customer behavior.
• You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and our merchant-facing teams to determine where Mudflap should invest and turn those opportunities into products that strengthen our marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with merchant partners, independently leading product conversations and uncovering opportunities to better serve their businesses
• Develop and own the strategy and roadmap for merchant-facing products and experiences
• Translate merchant feedback into broader insights, distinguishing one-off requests from scalable product opportunities
• Proactively identify new ways to create value for merchants and carriers, including pricing, promotions, incentives, and other marketplace capabilities
• Partner closely with Engineering and cross-functional teams from discovery and strategy through launch and iteration
• Use customer insights, data, and strong product judgment to prioritize opportunities and measure impact

Requirements

• Experience with merchant payments infrastructure, including POS systems, transaction processing, settlement, or related financial workflows
• Significant product management experience, ideally owning complex marketplace, merchant, logistics, freight, or payments products
• Experience working directly with merchants, enterprise partners, or sophisticated external customers
• Strong product judgment and a track record of identifying opportunities beyond what customers explicitly ask for
• Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how products create value for customers, partners, and the business
• Ability to build credibility with external partners and independently lead strategic product conversations
• Strong cross-functional leadership with the ability to operate autonomously and move quickly in ambiguity

• The salary range for this role is $215,000 – $238,000. This information reflects a base salary range for this position based on current market data, which may be subject to change as new market data becomes available. The candidate's skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the exact compensation.
