Senior AI Security Engineer – AWS or Azure at Genesis10 in Charlotte, NC \ Atlanta, GA \

Job description

• Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior AI Security Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
• The Senior AI Security Engineer will work directly with teams building generative AI and agentic AI applications. The consultant will be responsible for identifying, testing, and remediating security risks before AI applications and agents are deployed. This position requires strong, hands-on AI security experience within either AWS Bedrock or Microsoft Azure. The engineer will evaluate whether AI systems can be manipulated, expose sensitive information, access unauthorized resources, misuse connected tools, or behave abnormally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, and security testing for generative AI, LLM, RAG, and agentic AI solutions
• Identify and remediate prompt injection, jailbreak, sensitive-data exposure, unauthorized-access, and tool-misuse risks
• Secure AI agents, APIs, tool-calling capabilities, orchestration frameworks, and external integrations
• Implement AI guardrails, access controls, secrets management, monitoring, and detection capabilities
• Validate that AI applications and agents operate within their approved permissions and security boundaries
• Test applications for malicious manipulation and abnormal AI behavior
• Partner with AI engineers, application developers, cloud teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders
• Integrate security requirements into the architecture, development, testing, and deployment lifecycle
• Recommend practical remediation solutions and confirm that vulnerabilities have been addressed
• Support the development of secure patterns and controls for enterprise AI implementations

Requirements

• 10+ years of cybersecurity or security engineering experience
• Strong, hands-on security experience with at least one of the following:
• AWS, including Amazon Bedrock security; or
• Microsoft Azure, including Azure AI security
• Experience securing generative AI, LLM, RAG, or agentic AI systems
• Strong understanding of prompt injection, jailbreak attacks, data leakage, AI guardrails, and agent/tool-use security
• Knowledge of AI agents, RAG, tool calling, agent orchestration, and supporting architectures
• Experience with threat modeling, security testing, architecture reviews, and secure SDLC practices
• Cloud-native security experience, including identity and access management, secrets management, secure integrations, and monitoring
• Ability to implement, test, and validate technical security controls
• Ability to collaborate directly with engineering teams and provide actionable remediation guidance
• Must be a hands-on security engineer rather than someone primarily focused on policy or governance
• Security experience across both AWS and Azure
• Experience securing enterprise AI applications in highly regulated environments
• Familiarity with AI red teaming, adversarial testing, and AI-specific monitoring tools
