Job description

• The Membership Sales team member is a guest experience and sales professional responsible for actively promoting Discovery Cube memberships, converting eligible admission guests into members, supporting renewals and upgrades, and helping the team achieve established membership revenue and sales goals. This position creates welcoming guest interactions, clearly communicates membership value and benefits, and provides accurate service to prospective and existing members.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage guests throughout the facility to identify membership opportunities and promote the value and benefits of Discovery Cube membership.
• Convert eligible ticket purchasers and visiting guests into members using approved sales strategies, promotions, and talking points.
• Meet individual and team monthly, quarterly, and annual membership sales and revenue goals.
• Maintain current knowledge of membership levels, benefits, pricing, promotions, renewal offers, payment options, and applicable reciprocal admission benefits.
• Provide accurate, consistent, and professional information to prospective and existing members.
• Process new memberships, renewals, upgrades, and other membership transactions accurately in the ticketing/POS system.
• Support membership promotional tables, exhibit openings, member events, and other onsite sales initiatives as assigned.
• Proactively follow up on sales opportunities and help identify trends, guest questions, and barriers to conversion.
• Use appropriate upselling and cross-selling techniques while keeping the guest's needs and experience at the center of the interaction.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and professional presence at all times and contribute to an exceptional guest experience.
• Communicate guest concerns, transaction issues, or membership questions requiring escalation to the appropriate manager.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Operations, Marketing, and other departments to support membership initiatives and organizational goals.
• Participate in sales training, product updates, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Maintain accurate records and follow all cash-handling, transaction, privacy, and operational procedures.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
• Conduct outbound membership sales and follow-up calls to prospective members, expired members, and other identified leads to promote birthday parties, memberships, renewals, special offers, and current promotions
• Respond to incoming membership and other project inquiries by phone and provide accurate information while identifying opportunities to convert inquiries into membership sales and reservations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in sales, membership sales, product promotion, hospitality, admissions, retail, or customer service preferred.
• Demonstrated comfort initiating conversations with guests and asking for the sale.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain products and benefits clearly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, confident, professional approach with guests of all ages.
• Goal-oriented, proactive, motivated, and comfortable working toward measurable sales targets.
• Ability to learn changing membership products, promotions, procedures, and sales strategies quickly.
• Ability to remain composed and professional in a high-volume, fast-paced guest environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing transactions.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer/POS systems; Galaxy ticketing system experience is a plus.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred.
