Job description
- As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for growing sales and market share within your assigned territory by developing new business opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing customers. You will sell new and used forklifts, material handling equipment, and warehouse products while serving as a trusted resource to customers and helping them identify solutions that meet their operational needs.
- This is a full-time, exempt outside sales position based out of our Bloomington, Minnesota branch. The assigned territory includes Hennepin, Scott, Le Sueur, Sibley, Nicollet, Blue Earth, Fairbault, Brown, Watonwan, Martin, Redwood, Cottonwood, Jackson, Yellow Medicine, Lyon, Murray, Nobels, Lincoln, Pipestone and Rock counties.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow existing business while actively developing new customer relationships throughout the assigned territory.
- Sell new and used forklifts, material handling equipment, warehouse products, and related solutions across a broad range of industries.
- Establish, develop, and strengthen long-term relationships with current and prospective customers.
- Promote and sell Yale and Hyster product lines and secure customer orders.
- Assess customer needs and demonstrate products and solutions that best address their operational requirements.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and other sales materials for current and prospective customers.
- Analyze territory potential and evaluate existing and prospective accounts to identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and execute sales strategies designed to achieve established sales and business development goals.
- Monitor market and competitive activity and provide management with insights regarding customer needs, issues, opportunities, and potential new services.
- Maintain accurate sales activity and account information, including daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses, using CRM software.
- Partner with Business Development Representatives and Sales Coordinators to deliver a high level of service and ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Attend sales department meetings, company functions, and other required events.
- Manage time and priorities effectively, demonstrating strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask while meeting deadlines.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, coworkers, and other Fairchild Equipment personnel.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support company and customer needs.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information, strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork and flexibility.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Travel throughout assigned territory and/or Fairchild Equipment footprint; 80% annually.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 2+ years of experience with forklift sales experience is preferred.
- 3+ years of outside business to business sales experience is required.
- Knowledge of forklift / heavy equipment industry.
