• The Enterprise Productivity team helps colleagues do their best work by providing reliable, secure, and easy-to-use workplace technology. We manage a growing portfolio of SaaS applications and the systems, integrations, and processes that support how The Times works every day.
• As a Senior SaaS Systems Administrator, you will lead the administration, reliability, and continuous improvement of our SaaS platform stack. You will be the primary escalation point for complex admin-level incidents and a technical steward of the applications, integrations, and operational practices.You will report to the Manager of Enterprise Productivity

Responsibilities

• You will oversee the administration and ongoing improvement of a broad portfolio of SaaS applications, including: Google Workspace, Slack, Glean, Figma, Airtable, Coda, Miro, Trint, and other enterprise productivity tools.
• You will lead the investigation and resolution of complex application, access, configuration, identity, and integration incidents, leading issues through root-cause analysis, remediation, and preventative follow-up.
• You will establish and maintain standards for user and group access, permissions, application configuration, lifecycle management, integrations, and administrative controls in partnership with security, IT, and partners.
• You will be a technical steward of the SaaS application portfolio by defining ownership, documenting dependencies and configurations, assessing operational risk, and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, security, and user experience.
• You will design and improve repeatable processes, automation, monitoring, and documentation that make application administration, scalable, and resilient.
• You will partner with vendors and our teams to evaluate new applications, manage changes and releases, resolve escalated support issues, and make informed decisions about the future of our platform stack.
• You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to teammates, with partners at all levels, and help shape the team's standards and operating practices.
• You will demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration, systems engineering, SaaS administration, or a related IT operations role.
• Professional experience administering enterprise SaaS applications, including identity and access management, permissions, configuration, troubleshooting, integrations, and application lifecycle processes.
• Experience serving as an escalation point for complex technical incidents, including root-cause analysis, coordination, remediation, and prevention of recurring issues.
• Strong systems-administration fundamentals across identity, email servers, authentication, directory services, collaboration platforms, endpoint environments, or server administration.
• This is a hybrid position based in our NYC headquarters, requiring in-office attendance three days per week.
• Experience working at a managed service provider or in another environment requiring rapid learning and technical ownership across a broad range of customer technologies.
• Experience administering Google Workspace and collaboration or productivity platforms such as Slack, Microsoft 365, Figma, Airtable, Coda, Miro, or similar tools.
• Experience administrating Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft Office, and Windows or Linux server hosts.
• Experience with scripting, APIs, automation, monitoring, identity governance, SaaS security, vendor management, or technology portfolio management.
