Job description

• PMX Industries is seeking a proactive and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead and optimize our metals procurement operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of high-quality materials and services at competitive values while managing supplier relationships, market risks, logistics, and inventory.
• The Purchasing Manager will work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to develop and execute procurement strategies that support the Company’s operational and strategic objectives. As an individual contributor and leader, this position will be responsible for establishing and implementing short- and long-term metals procurement goals and objectives in alignment with the Company’s overall business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures and perform work in a manner that protects themselves and others from hazards and injuries.
• Develop, implement, and administer short- and long-term metals procurement strategies, including sourcing strategies within the secondary scrap markets.
• Ensure the timely availability of required materials through effective purchasing and logistics practices.
• Monitor metal markets and assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with market fluctuations and material pricing.
• Negotiate, execute, and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.
• Manage the purchasing, logistics, inventory, and disposal of materials in accordance with Company policies, objectives, and market conditions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain an effective supplier and vendor qualification and approval process.
• Identify and implement opportunities to control costs and improve overall procurement value.
• Monitor supplier performance, availability, pricing, quality, and delivery to ensure business requirements are met.
• Prepare and ensure the timely completion of daily, monthly, and annual purchasing reports, forecasts, and related documentation.
• Provide leadership and direction in support of procurement objectives and Company goals.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within purchasing and related processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Company policies, and contractual requirements, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Foster a professional, collaborative, and positive work environment.
• Collaborate with other departments and organizations to promote teamwork and achieve Company objectives.
• Coach, mentor, develop, and train purchasing team members to support individual and departmental success.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Finance, or a related field and/or a minimum of five years of experience in specialty alloys, metals procurement, or a related industry; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Previous experience in the specialty alloys, metals, manufacturing, procurement, or related industry.
• Strong knowledge of metals, metal markets, purchasing practices, and supplier management.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, suppliers, and other business partners.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Red Metal or Base metals procurement experience for a consumer preferred. Experience with hedging principles.

• Salary Range: $90,000–$135,000 annually
