• We are looking for two Senior Business Analysts to join CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) team. Where you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping major enterprise technology and business transformation initiatives.
• Working closely with senior executives, business leaders and technology stakeholders, you'll help define future business capabilities, influence strategic decisions and translate complex organisational needs into practical solutions. A key focus of the role will be supporting CSIRO's Data Modernisation and ITP programs, helping to shape the future ERP environment, identify priorities and opportunities, and guide successful delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partnering directly with senior executives, executive sponsors and enterprise leaders to understand strategic priorities, business challenges, investment drivers and desired business outcomes.
• Providing objective analysis, insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making, including options analysis, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, impacts and opportunities.
• Establish a comprehensive view of the current-state ERP ecosystem, including business capabilities, processes, systems, integrations, data, pain points, constraints and opportunities.
• Shape the future-state ERP vision and ensure that ERP transformation is driven by business outcomes and strategic capability requirements, rather than technology replacement alone.
• Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation of business, functional and non-functional requirements across complex IT, software, service improvement and lifecycle initiatives.
• Assess current and proposed processes, systems and services to identify risks, issues, benefits, dependencies, constraints and business impacts.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, working groups and decision forums with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, technical specialists, vendors and delivery partners to define and validate business needs and priorities.

Requirements

• Essential criteria
• Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.
• 8+ years’ experience in a business analysis role with a focus on business process improvement, enterprise transformation, information systems or a related discipline; supported by substantial experience delivering business analysis in complex environments.
• Experience contributing to Data modernisation projects, enterprise systems transformation projects and other large-scale, multi-year business and technology programs.
• Extensive experience eliciting, analysing, validating and managing business requirements, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceable analysis artefacts for complex information systems and digital solutions.
• Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating business analysis across a complex program, portfolio or group of interdependent projects, including planning and sequencing analysis activities, maintaining alignment across workstreams and providing quality oversight of analysis outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain alignment between strategic objectives, business capabilities, transformation outcomes, requirements and delivery activities, including identifying and articulating business benefits, measures of success, dependencies and impacts across a program.
• Demonstrated experience analysing end-to-end business processes and enterprise capabilities that cross organisational, service, system or project boundaries, including identification of pain points, controls, information needs, dependencies, risks, business impacts and improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and build effective relationships with senior leaders, business and process owners, technical specialists, delivery teams, procurement stakeholders, vendors and external implementation partners.
• Proven ability to work effectively where scope, priorities, operating models, solution options or delivery sequencing are evolving, and to synthesise incomplete or competing information into defensible options, recommendations and decision-support material.
• Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to synthesise complex information, prepare decision-support artefacts, and present recommendations to business and technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor or support team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis practices, standards and delivery approaches.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles of workplace diversity, equal employment opportunity, health, safety and wellbeing.
• This is a security assessed position, applications for this position are open to Australian Citizens with the successful candidate being required to be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Negative Vetting 1 level. Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements.
• Proven experience using Design Thinking Methodology.
• Proficiency in BA tools modelling standards (e.g. Business Process Model Notation)
• Experience supporting data migration, integration, reporting, testing, business readiness or transition activities in complex enterprise environments
