Senior Designer, Women's Wovens at Everlane in Los Angeles, CA

Job description

• At Everlane we are product leaders. We are building a first-class design team, and we are currently looking to fill a Designer level position that will focus on designing and developing great products for Women’s Everlane Customers. This includes shirting, dresses, casual and tailored bottoms, as well as support on both technical and tailored outerwear.
• You must be passionate, enthusiastic, and rigorous, with an obsessive eye for detail. You will bring your designs to life by reviewing samples, attending fittings, and collaborating with product development, merchandising, and production teams. Our designs are seen by thousands of people and are consistently featured in popular social media influencers. Our brand ethos and design aesthetic is one of purity and simplicity; less is more. Our vision is to create perfect, timeless, modern & effortless pieces for every woman. We rely on a thorough editing process to get these essential pieces just right, from fabric to fit, to drape and construction. The ideal candidate graduated from a competitive design school and has 5+ years experience working with highly respected fashion houses.

Responsibilities

• Report to and support the Womens Design Director in the creation of product
• Initiate designs beginning with thorough research and inspirational images
• Understanding of garment washing and garment dyeing is preferred.
• Experience in technical outerwear garment is appreciated.
• Work closely with other members of the design team to develop cohesive seasonal product grouping
• Hand sketch initial ideas, and computer sketch final ideas
• Creation of technical packages
• Communicate and collaborate with Raw Materials, Tech teams, and Production teams to ensure optimal product development
• Collaborate with Merchandising partners to build a seasonal knowledge of strong successful and ownable Everlane designs and apply this knowledge when designing future products to drive the business forward
• Assist with the preparation of presentations for milestone meetings

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Technical knowledge of wovens construction, both casual and simple tailored
• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or closely related design field
• AI, Illustrator and Miro application experience
• The desire to work on a collaborative and diverse team that is dedicated to doing good for the planet and the consumer
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• An entrepreneurial mindset and a solution-oriented approach to challenges

The annual compensation range for this role is $100-130k. This range is based on the LA geographic area and the actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
