Job description
- Senior Oracle Database Administrator
- Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
- Duration: 6 months
- Seeking for an Senior Oracle Database Administrator to administer, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise Oracle database environments. The role requires strong experience with Oracle 19c/26ai, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Linux, along with hands-on experience migrating on-premises Oracle databases to OCI.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Oracle 19c and newer database environments.
- Support Oracle databases in both OCI and on-premises environments.
- Plan and execute Oracle database migrations from on-premises environments to OCI.
- Administer and troubleshoot Oracle RAC and ASM on Linux.
- Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard Physical Standby environments.
- Manage RMAN backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Perform database performance tuning, capacity management, security, and patching.
- Utilize Oracle Data Pump and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Troubleshoot complex production database and ERP-related issues.
- Maintain database procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of Oracle DBA experience, with strong experience in Oracle 19c and exposure to Oracle 26ai.
- Hands-on experience with OCI and Oracle database migrations to OCI.
- Strong experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Experience with Oracle Data Pump, OEM, performance tuning, security, and patching.
- Experience supporting Oracle databases on Linux/Unix.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or newer is a plus.
