2027 Summer Internship - Marketing, Harper Books (NYC) at HarperCollins in US-NY-New York

Job description

• The Harper Group, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, is seeking a Marketing Intern for the Summer!
• The Harper Group is comprised of several imprints — flagship imprint Harper, as well as Harper Business, Harper Edge, Broadside Books and Harper Influence —– and publishes a range of titles across most publishing categories from authors including Ann Patchett, Daniel Silva, Mitch Albom, Barbara Kingsolver, Harper Lee, Louise Erdrich and more.
• The Harper Marketing department consists of ten dynamic and creative individuals, who work across all hardcover imprints and genres to implement widespread promotion and sales coverage for our titles. Projects may include influencer outreach, marketing research, social media, buzz mailings, list building and more.

Responsibilities

• Develop a working understanding of the teams and tasks involved in publication of Harper’s hardcover books
• Learn important publishing software programs and use them to assist in creating marketing copy, influencer outreach, administrative tasks, and other departmental functions
• Assist with managing departmental accounts on Goodreads and NetGalley
• Coordinate marketing mailings for buzz building campaigns to bookstores and influencers
• Assist with digital marketing tasks including digital advertising, social media outreach, and other content creation to promote our books
• Brainstorm and build lists for various methods of promotion, including book clubs, influencers and more.

Requirements

• Candidates must be available to work in our NYC office from Monday – Thursday for a total of 28 hours per week, from June 7 – August 12, 2027. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.
• Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.
