Job description
- We strive to be the best retailer in the USA in the eyes and minds of our customers, associates, and business partners.
- Gun Customer Service associates are responsible for creating a welcoming environment by greeting customers, accurately processing transactions while following all ATF federal laws and guidelines. This role provides friendly, helpful service that ensures customers leave with a positive impression of Scheels.
- This role requires all associates to be at least 21 years of age due to compliance requirements for processing firearms.
Responsibilities
- Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
- Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
- Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
- Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
- Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
- End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
- Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases
- Complete firearm background checks
- Assist with Gun Room housekeeping
- Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed
- Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience
