• We’re looking for a Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant's to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Responsibilities

• Follows established protocol(s) in Specimen Processing
• Ensures that all samples are properly identified, data enter, and labeled
• Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
• Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
• Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions
• · Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS

• Pay rate: $19.75–$23.50
• The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to level of experience and education requirements.
