Job description
- Merlin Law Group PLLC. is seeking a Paralegal with 6+ years of litigation experience in our Tampa, FL office.
- We are seeking a talented Paralegal with 6+ years of litigation experience to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. The legal assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys, maintaining case files, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations within our litigation team.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison among all parties including courts and other neutral parties.
- Review, organize, and maintain case materials.
- Perform case-related research.
- Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, interrogatories/answers, other legal documents.
- Coordinate the collection, review and production of documents and discovery requests.
- Assist in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial.
- Assist with trial preparation including preparation of exhibits, witness binders and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial and court hearings.
- Calendaring and scheduling depositions, hearings, mediations and other meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies (preferred)
- 6+ years of relevant experience as a paralegal with a focus on litigation
- Experience and knowledge of State and Federal court system and filings
- First Party Property Insurance (a plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, document management and client management software systems
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Organized & detail-oriented
