As the Controller, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Company's financial policies, accounting practices, internal controls, and fiscal recordkeeping processes. You will oversee the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, help support the annual budgeting process, complete various state filings and ensure the accuracy and timely completion of financial reporting. Additionally, you will provide leadership and development to various accounting personnel, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• This position is based in our Corporate Office located in Bel Air, Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and maintaining the Company's financial policies, accounting practices, internal controls, and fiscal recordkeeping processes.
• Overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Supporting the annual budgeting process.
• Completing various state filings and ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of financial reporting.
• Providing leadership and development to various accounting personnel.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role managing and developing accounting staff. A combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience with multi-state tax compliance and reporting.
• Experience managing accounting and reporting for multiple legal entities.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and sound professional judgment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; experience with ERP implementations or system conversions is a plus.
