Job description

• The Associate User Experience (UX) Designer is part of the Availity Design and Experience Team. You will design user-centered, visually compelling experiences that improve the usability and effectiveness of Availity’s products while supporting business goals. Partnering with User Research, you will translate insights into thoughtful, high‑quality solutions and independently create deliverables ranging from wireframes to polished visual designs, interactive prototypes, user flows, and reusable design system patterns.

Responsibilities

• Articulating design goals and outcomes with various stakeholders to build a shared vision.
• Fostering relationships and collaborating closely with UX, research, product, and engineering teams.
• Weaving together experiences built on multiple platforms to tell a consistent brand story that unfolds across touchpoints.
• Designing exciting, innovative experiences.
• Building deeper understanding of our products and services.
• Articulating an experience vision that delivers value in the near-term while continuously evolving in the long term.
• Producing user flows, and wireframes to communicate a specific design vision & strategy based on research findings.
• Advocating for accessibility, encouraging product and engineering management to prioritize accessible features.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, New Media, Interactive Digital Media or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Over two years of experience designing digital products, with demonstrated strength in visual design and UX processes.
• A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality visual design and UX thinking. We are especially interested in seeing high-fidelity design work, visual exploration, and concept work.
• Strong familiarity with Figma.
• Thorough question asking and note taking skills.
• Adaptability to pivot in a quickly changing environment.
• User empathy and natural curiosity.
• Learning agility. You have the ability to quickly grasp new situations, synthesize large amounts of information quickly, and find answers
• Strong familiarity with accessibility/508 Compliance
• Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.
• Experience engaging directly with users to gather insights, validate concepts, and test designs or hypotheses throughout the design process.
• Self-motivation and ability to work with little supervision, prioritizing work from multiple sources.
• Experience with behavioral analytics (such as Google Analytics or Pendo) is a plus.
• Experience writing, recruiting, and conducting usability studies, analyzing and synthesizing results to present to stakeholders is a plus.
• Experience within the healthcare technology space is a plus.
