- Role Title :API Engineer 1 - Credit (L08)
- Credit Team decisions credit actions across the lifecycle of a customer – from acquisition to account management to collections and recover – we work towards managing credit and fraud losses and elevating customer experience through powerful and proprietary insights on customer risk and credit behaviors. The actionable insights are driven by access to numerous alternative data sources, new age technologies, focused strategies, emerging algorithms, and predictive precision. Spread across 10 pillars the credit team in India caters to the entire gamut of decision sciences, from data management to model development to strategy design, and bringing it all to life through technology, and managing within the guardrails of our regulatory requirements. As part of the team, you will have access to some unique product propositions, functional and leadership training, interaction with executive leadership team and a myriad of diverse perspectives.
- As an API Engineer I, you’ll be a part of an amazing team working on our microservice APIs throughout the entire development process. You’ll participate in hack-a-thons, partner with universities on innovation events, and work with our famed Stamford Innovation Station

Requirements
- Minimum 1+ year of applied Java experience.
- Critical Thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellence in technical communication with technical and non-technical peers.
- Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with knowledge of application development using Java minimum 1 Year of Software Engineering Experience.

- Experience in Front End UI development and Backend Java programming.
- Familiarity building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST
- Familiarity with common Java frameworks like Spring and Spring boot
- Familiarity with Jira and Bitbucket and git.
- Familiarity with continuous integration environments
- Familiarity writing unit and integration tests
- Familiarity with JSON, REST and XML based web services
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers
- Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization
