Job description

• The NewPath Child & Family Solutions Medical Assistant plays an essential role in
• supporting the medical services department. The Medical Assistant interacts with clients who may be experiencing distress.

Responsibilities

• Obtains pertinent vital signs and interim history prior to appointments.
• Assist with obtaining all lab orders for clients as ordered.
• Administer intramuscular (IM) injections to clients as directed by the prescriber.
• Orders medical supplies as necessary.
• Complete prior authorizations.
• Generates, submits and reviews all relevant documentation in a timely manner.
• Complete medication consent forms and obtain the prescriber's signature.
• Manages daily office operations.
• Works as a liaison between prescribers, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories, residential personnel, drug reps, and NewPath staff.
• Follows all applicable compliance requirements and regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA and CARF standards.

Requirements

• Minimum Education of High School Diploma; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Medical Assistant Course Completion required.
• Certified through the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred.
• Excellent Customer Service Experience required.
• 1-2 years' experience working as a Medical Assistant preferably in behavioral health.
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and computer-based systems.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Excellent problem solving and organization skills.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance with no more than 5 points on your MVR.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug screen.
