Job description

• Turo is building a car for wherever your trip begins or ends — delivered to airports, hotels, homes, and everywhere between. Making that real requires a physical and digital delivery network that moves the right car to the right place at the right time, reliably and at a cost that scales. As the Network Operations Lead, Travel, you will own the buildout and day-to-day operation of that network.
• This is a hands-on 0→1 leadership role. You will design the logistics, stand up the infrastructure (mobility hubs, staging, parking, and turnover), and run the operating model that fulfills delivery across airports and delivery zones. You own how the network performs — its reliability, its economics, and its ability to scale from a handful of markets to a national footprint. You will lead a small, high-leverage team and partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Data, and Partnerships to turn the delivery vision into a running system.

Responsibilities

• Build the delivery network: Own the end-to-end design of the logistics processes and physical infrastructure that enable delivery across airports and delivery zones — from curbside and on/off-airport nodes to hubs serving hotels, homes, and new destinations.
• Stand up and scale mobility hubs: Establish staging, parking, and turnover locations as ubiquitous, affordable platforms for pickup, delivery, and last-mile — designing the operating logic that makes them repeatable market to market.
• Launch and scale Pit Crew: Build turnover-as-a-service into an established, scaling offering across hubs, defining the service model, quality bar, and unit economics.
• Own network reliability: Set and hold the SLAs that matter — on-time delivery, turnover speed and quality, curbside experience — using incident triage, root-cause analysis, and closed feedback loops to drive down recurrence and time-to-resolution.
• Lead the operations team: Manage and develop the Airport PM and Delivery Zones PM, setting priorities, raising the operating bar, and building an accountable, high-performing team.
• Instrument the network: Partner with Data to build the KPIs, diagnostics, and Weekly Business Review cadence that surface market-level underperformance and drive prioritization — turning operational signals into action.
• Run a cost-disciplined operating model: Own the cost-to-serve and unit economics of delivery, balancing service quality against margin so the network scales value rather than cost, and reducing host operating cost to strengthen supply and pricing.
• Steward vendors and partners: Build and manage the parking, turnover, staging, and technology partnerships the network depends on, harmonizing commercial agreements with operational needs.
• Execute cross-functionally: Drive aligned outcomes across Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and Partnerships — influencing without authority to ship the network buildout.
• Build for what's next: Design the network with a technology-forward, automation-ready mindset, including an autonomous-vehicle future for on-demand turnover.

Requirements

• 8+ years in operations, logistics, supply chain, or general management, including multi-market delivery or marketplace operations at scale
• Bachelor's degree required — engineering, operations, supply chain, or business preferred
• Proven track record building and running a delivery or logistics network across many regional markets — designing the operating logic, not just executing it
• Deep marketplace and supply/demand fluency — diagnosing and fixing density, utilization, and reliability problems across a distributed footprint
• Strong analytical and data-driven operating rigor, with hands-on SQL and BI tools (Tableau/Looker) and a metrics-driven cadence (WBR or equivalent); comfort with Python or data pipelines a plus
• Demonstrated reliability and incident-management discipline — triage taxonomies, root-cause analysis, and SLA ownership
• Effective people leader, able to lead through and develop program managers and operators and build accountable teams
• Skilled in cross-functional execution and influence without authority, partnering with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and Operations
• Track record of standardizing playbooks and controlled rollouts that scale wins across markets
• Creative, entrepreneurial, 0→1 builder with a strong bias for action and ownership
• Exposure to autonomous vehicles, connected-vehicle systems, or fleet technology
• Experience in physical operations, field operations, facilities, or real estate / site buildout
• Domain experience in airports, travel, mobility, or car rental
• MBA from a top university preferred
• Technical or engineering background a plus

• For this role, the target base salary range in San Francisco is $175,000 - $220,000 annually. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
