Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and approve standard and non-standard Letters of Offer, facility agreements, security documents and related documentation in accordance with approved credit terms.
- Ensure all conditions, covenants, collateral requirements and other terms in the approved Credit Application Memorandum are accurately and completely incorporated into the documentation.
- Manage complex and bespoke documentation matters, including drafting non-standard provisions and obtaining Legal clearance where required.
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Legal, Operations and other stakeholders to resolve documentation issues and deliver agreed turnaround times.
- Maintain strong documentation controls, promptly identify and escalate discrepancies or exceptions, and support satisfactory audit and regulatory outcomes.
- Draft, review and finalise credit and security documentation for new facilities, amendments, renewals and other approved transactions.
- Perform independent quality checks to confirm the accuracy, completeness, consistency and enforceability of documentation before issuance or execution.
- Clarify ambiguous, incomplete or inconsistent approval terms with Relationship Managers and Credit Risk colleagues and escalate material issues on a timely basis.
- Maintain and update Letters of Offer, supplementary documents, standard clauses, checklists and credit documentation templates in consultation with Legal and relevant control functions.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, delegated authorities, operating procedures, service standards and applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain complete documentation records and provide timely status updates to stakeholders, including on outstanding matters, exceptions and execution requirements.
- Support process improvement, documentation standardisation, system enhancements, preparation of functional specifications, user acceptance testing and other departmental initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, Finance, Banking or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant banking or financial-services experience, preferably in credit documentation, or a related control function.
- Strong working knowledge of facility and security documentation, credit approval terms and documentation controls.
- Experience supporting Private Banking, Wealth Management or complex secured-lending transactions is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and high-volume documentation within demanding turnaround times.
- Relevant legal, credit or banking qualifications would be advantageous.
- Meticulous with good attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight timelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including Credit Managers, Credit Risk Managers, Relationship Managers and Legal.
- Aptitude and mindset to continuously leverage technology to drive efficiency and automation.
