Job description

• Mach Industries is seeking a Field Operations Specialist to support planning, coordination, and execution of domestic and international field operations, flight test activities, demonstrations, and deployments. This role ensures personnel, equipment, test assets, transportation, documentation, facilities, and other operational resources are coordinated and ready to support successful field execution. The Field Operations Specialist works cross-functionally with engineering, flight operations, manufacturing, logistics, safety, program management, and external partners to identify requirements, resolve logistical constraints, and maintain operational readiness. This position requires strong organizational skills, sound operational judgment, and the ability to execute in dynamic field environments.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations Planning & Execution
• Plan and execute logistics for domestic and international field operations, flight tests, demonstrations, and deployments.
• Coordinate transportation and movement of test hardware, support equipment, tools, vehicles, and personnel.
• Develop and maintain deployment checklists, equipment manifests, movement plans, schedules, and other operational planning documentation.
• Coordinate site access, facilities, transportation, equipment, and support resources required for field execution.
• Support mobilization, field execution, demobilization, recovery, inventory reconciliation, and operational closeout.
• Deployment Readiness
• Support pre-deployment planning and readiness reviews to ensure teams are prepared for field operations.
• Verify required personnel, equipment, documentation, transportation, site access, and support resources are in place prior to deployment.
• Deliver or support pre-deployment logistics and safety briefings.
• Identify logistical constraints, resource gaps, schedule conflicts, and other issues that could impact field execution.
• Coordinate requirements across engineering, flight operations, manufacturing, logistics, safety, and program teams.
• Field Operations Support
• Provide on-site logistical and operational support during flight tests, demonstrations, deployments, and other field activities.
• Troubleshoot logistical and operational issues in real time to minimize mission impact.
• Adapt field plans as schedules, resources, environmental conditions, or operational priorities change.
• Coordinate field procurement of equipment, supplies, services, and other operational resources.
• Escalate significant operational, regulatory, safety, or logistical risks to the appropriate technical or program authority.
• Shipping & Transportation Coordination
• Coordinate domestic and international shipping and receiving of test hardware, UAS components, operational equipment, tools, and support materials.
• Prepare and maintain shipping, receiving, inventory, and equipment-movement documentation.
• Coordinate with freight providers, brokers, vendors, facilities, and internal logistics teams.
• Maintain awareness of requirements affecting hazardous materials, dangerous goods, lithium batteries, customs, and export-controlled equipment.
• Coordinate with appropriate subject matter experts when shipments require specialized HAZMAT, ITAR, EAR, customs, or dangerous-goods review.
• Aviation & Range Coordination
• Support flight operations and test teams with range scheduling, site coordination, access requirements, and operational documentation.
• Maintain working awareness of basic aviation terminology, airspace considerations, range operations, and flight-test support requirements.
• Assist with coordination and documentation associated with NOTAMs, FAA authorizations, Certificates of Waiver or Authorization, range requirements, and other aviation activities under the direction of qualified personnel.
• Coordinate with aviation, flight-test, range, and regulatory subject matter experts when specialized review or authorization is required.
• Safety, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
• Follow and reinforce established safety, logistics, transportation, range, aviation, and field operating procedures.
• Identify potential operational hazards and logistics risks during planning and execution and support implementation of established controls.
• Maintain required operational, logistics, shipping, and deployment records.
• Document logistical constraints, operational risks, field execution issues, and lessons learned.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes, checklists, equipment readiness, logistics workflows, and standard work.

Requirements

• Experience in field operations, logistics, aviation operations, military operations, flight test, transportation, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related operational environment.
• Experience coordinating personnel, equipment, transportation, schedules, vendors, or other operational resources.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and execute multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to changing field conditions.
• Experience maintaining accurate operational, logistics, inventory, shipping, or transportation documentation.
• Ability to identify operational and logistical risks and escalate matters requiring specialized technical or regulatory expertise.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across engineering, operations, logistics, manufacturing, safety, and program organizations.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally and support field operations as required.
• Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
• To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. • Experience supporting UAS, aerospace, defense, flight-test, weapons-test, or other technically complex field operations.
• Military experience in operations, logistics, aviation, transportation, range operations, deployment, or a related field.
• Experience supporting domestic or international deployment of technical equipment or operational teams.
• Experience coordinating freight, shipping, customs, vendors, or transportation providers.
• Familiarity with hazardous materials and dangerous-goods transportation requirements, including 49 CFR and/or IATA.
• Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, customs, and international shipping requirements.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations, aviation terminology, airspace coordination, NOTAMs, Certificates of Waiver or Authorization, and flight-test or range operations.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or experience supporting UAS flight operations.
• Experience operating in remote, austere, or rapidly changing field environments.
• Active or previously held U.S. security clearance
