• Process Automation Engineer
• 100% Remote

• The Process Automation Engineer designs, builds, and supports enterprise AI and business process automation solutions that reduce manual work, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen decision support. This hands-on role specializes in Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI Service, and Microsoft Power Platform, owning solutions from discovery through production and training business owners to sustain them. The engineer partners with business leaders, process owners, IT, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to deliver secure, governed solutions that bridge operational needs and practical technology.
• Success is measured by production-ready delivery on approved timelines; documented reductions in manual effort, processing time, or cost; secure and compliant solutions; and training and handoff that drive adoption.

Responsibilities

• AI Engineering (40%)
• Design, build, and deploy enterprise AI agents, agentic workflows, and copilots using Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and Azure OpenAI Service, applying LLM, prompt engineering, RAG, knowledge grounding, tool calling, and human-in-the-loop patterns. (20%)
• Configure agent behavior, guardrails, and escalation paths, and integrate AI with SharePoint, Dataverse, Microsoft Graph, SQL, and approved enterprise systems to support document processing, knowledge retrieval, case management, and decision support. (10%)
• Monitor and evaluate production AI for accuracy, safety, latency, and consumption cost; improve performance through testing, feedback, and tuning. (10%)
• Automation & Analytics (30%)
• Develop and maintain Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, Power BI reports, and SharePoint solutions that automate approvals, notifications, data processing, and cross-system workflows, incorporating AI where it adds measurable value. (20%)
• Design data structures and integrations using Dataverse, SQL, REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, and custom connectors; troubleshoot, optimize, and document solutions for reliability and scale. (10%)
• Business Partnership & Delivery (20%)
• Lead discovery sessions and translate stakeholder needs into requirements, designs, prototypes, and delivery plans with defined success criteria. (10%)
• Coordinate with project management, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance through testing, release, and operational handoff; validate results with process owners. (10%)
• Governance & Enablement (10%)
• Apply secure development, least-privilege, and SDLC controls; partner on Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, and Power Platform governance; review privacy, security, and AI risks and obtain approvals before introducing new tools, connectors, or data sources. (5%)
• Develop user and administrator guides and deliver training and knowledge transfer so business owners can sustain solutions. (5%)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of six years of experience in application development, enterprise integration, or business process automation.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, and delivering generative AI solutions with Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI Service, Microsoft Foundry, or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365/SharePoint, Power BI, Dataverse or relational data concepts, REST APIs, JSON, and Power Fx.
• Proven ability to own the full solution lifecycle, facilitate stakeholders, write clear technical documentation, and train nontechnical users.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry such as government contracting, healthcare, health insurance, or financial services; Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) or CMS program experience is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with CMS requirements, HIPAA, FISMA, NIST frameworks, formal SDLC controls, and audit-ready change management.
• Experience with Azure AI Search, Azure AI Document Intelligence, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Microsoft Fabric, or advanced agent orchestration, as well as platforms such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or AWS Bedrock/SageMaker.
• Experience with Power Platform ALM, managed solutions, deployment pipelines, and Azure DevOps/GitHub CI/CD; proficiency in Python, C#, JavaScript, or PowerShell.
• Microsoft certifications such as AI-102, PL-400, or PL-600.
