• Schedule: Full Time, Days 8:00am - 4:30pm

• Medical Assistants work under the direct authority of a physician in an outpatient setting. The supervising/delegating physician is responsible for medical assistants in performing tasks delegated by the physician. The medical assistant is also responsible for tasks performed according to specific procedures or as delegated by the physician. These tasks include collection of patient data including recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, respirations, pulse and electrocardiograms). Other clinical tasks include venipuncture/phlebotomy (per CLIA quality control regulations), administering intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections {including immunizations/vaccinations}. The Medical Assistant is a contributing member to the multidisciplinary health care team and must be able to communicate the needs of the patent/significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient's care.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct authority of a physician in an outpatient setting.
• Perform tasks delegated by the physician, including collection of patient data (vital signs, temperature, blood pressure, respirations, pulse, electrocardiograms).
• Perform clinical tasks including venipuncture/phlebotomy (per CLIA quality control regulations) and administering intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections (including immunizations/vaccinations).
• Communicate the needs of the patient/significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient's care.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate from a medical assistants program.
• Hold a valid diploma or current certification to practice as a medical assistant. Certification preferred.
• Previous work experience is desired but training will be provided for a qualified candidate.
