- We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to work on the Qualys Sensor Platform, Qualys' flagship offering. Working with a team of engineers and architects, you will contribute to the prototyping, design, development, and support of a highly scalable security platform with a focus on the Windows platform.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, code, and debug security software for the Windows platform.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems and platforms.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to implement features and resolve defects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a hands-on engineer developing software products and solutions.
- 1+ years of C++ programming in a Windows environment.
- Working knowledge of the Windows operating system internals (processes, threads, services, registry, Win32 API).
- Demonstrated skills including design, prototype, development, unit test, and performance profiling.
- Hands-on with development tools like Visual Studio, GIT, JIRA, and Agile/Scrum development.
- Takes ownership of successful delivery of product components and modules assigned.
- Exposure to Test-Driven Development and a strong quality focus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-directed; requires minimal supervision on work products.
- Team player with a can-do attitude, yet modest and humble when collaborating within the team and across other teams.
- Uncompromising attitude when it comes to quality and helping raise the bar of the product and team.
