Responsibilities
- • Answers phone calls expediently and refer inquiries to the appropriate parties as needed.
- • Schedules and confirms patient appointments over the phone.
- • Explains health center procedures to patients.
- • Verifies medical insurance coverage and eligibility and expires on any insurance that is not active.
- • Informs patients with account balances and correct billing amounts.
- • Notifies patients with insurance co-pays.
- • Verifies patient demographic information.
- • Ensures accuracy of the information in telephone messages and deciphers the correct amount to charge a self-pay or sliding fee schedule for patients.
- • Provides referral status information to patients.
- • Follows processes and policies for the organization.
- • Fosters the goals of team building within the clinic/center staff.
- • Manages quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- • Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
- • When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
- • Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
- • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.

Requirements
- • Working knowledge of EMR systems preferred.
- • A High School diploma or GED from an Accredited Institution.
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service.
- • Current valid state driver's license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.
- • Cardiology practice experience preferred.
