• eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA

Responsibilities

• Job Duties: Design, develop, and implement robust, secure payment systems using scalable microservice architecture, ensuring compliance through adherence to PCI standards. Help eBay be in the top tier with new software products, including cloud-based and internet-related tools. Support for on-call duties to resolve site issues. Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and deliver results. Develop and support projects throughout all phases of the development life cycle. Work independently and in multi-group cross-discipline environments. Analyze technical issues and clearly communicate recommendations and solutions. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

• Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• 1. Experience designing and developing high-performance, scalable, and highly available web services leveraging microservices architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, and distributed systems principles
• 2. Experience throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), covering integration testing, end-to-end testing, live/production testing, and launch support
• 3. Experience with Payments/Fintech technologies like credit card processing, ACH, and wire transfers
• 4. Experience with card security protocols and standards like PCI, Mutual Auth, and HMAC
• 5. Experience in implementing mTLS-based secure communication, encryption standards, and end-to-end certificate lifecycle management, including issuance, rotation, and renewal
• 6. Experience in supporting PCI compliance audits, security reviews, and regulatory requirements
• 7. Experience with relational, non-relational, and big data stores such as Couchbase, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Hadoop
• 8. Object-oriented functional programming, reactive and asynchronous design patterns
• 10. Experience with Agile development practices, including Scrum
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Benefits

• Salary: $169,576.00-229,600.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
