Job description

• At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a Financial Analyst, R&D Finance, to serve as a key partner in supporting the Research and Preclinical (R&pD) organization’s business. This role will primarily support the preclinical function of the R&pD organization.
• In this role you will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, variance analysis, financial modeling and other ad hoc financial duties. Key aspects of the role include cost center reporting, accrual calculations, compiling program budgets, study forecasting on a cost center basis and working on external collaborations.
• This role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail and accuracy, an eagerness to learn, as well as an ability to work cross-functionally with teams to gather assumptions. The candidate should be able to both communicate effectively and quickly develop trusted relationships with all levels across R&pD and Financial Services functions.

Responsibilities

• Support R&pD business partners to create department level annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Leverage Hyperion to retrieve, analyze, and upload the budget and forecast data.
• Analyze operational expense data to formulate variance analysis and monitor spending versus budget and forecast.
• Work cross functionally with Accounting and Preclinical Business partners externally and internally, to prepare accruals.
• Maintain financial models as needed.
• Prepare and present financial analysis in support of ad hoc requests and projects.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, models, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, or accounting or an analytical based background
• 2-4 years in an analytical role and/or related relevant experience.
• Previous budgeting/forecasting/variance analysis experience.
• Strong Excel skills preferred (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDEX and Pivot Tables).
• A strong grasp of financial accounting concepts.
• Ability to effectively build, train and leverage AI models in day-to-day work and the willingness to learn new iterations and business cases
• Project management experience is a plus
• Previous experience in the biotech / pharmaceutical industry is nice to have.
• Experience using Hyperion or related EPM tools is nice to have.
