Job description
- This position is to act as a supporting function for PSG Business Development Manager to help drive new customer prospecting activities within China.
- We are looking for a junior sales individual with sales and technical background in pharmaceutical industry. This individual will act as the initial touchpoint for the new customers/leads and uncover their needs to qualify the business opportunities for PSG. This individual will work with different stakeholders including local BD and marketing team to enable our customers to make the world a Healthier Cleaner and Safer place.
Responsibilities
- Build strong understanding of new customers and their marketplaces through a broad range of information sources, identify and lead new business opportunities with the customers.
- Manage all CDA/NDA execution for China.
- Qualify any potential business opportunities for PSG post successful execution of CDA/NDA and process smooth handover to the respective BDMs.
- · Conduct desk research and market mapping to build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.
- · Support outbound campaigns (email, calls, conferences) to generate and nurture leads.
- Coordinate and support client meetings, teleconferences, and site visits, including preparation of briefing materials and follow‑up actions for new clients.
- Serve as a day‑to‑day point of contact for prospective clients at the early business development stage.
- · Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the pharmaceutical and biotech services market.
- · Support marketing initiatives including events, conferences, webinars, and promotional campaigns (e.g., material preparation, lead follow‑up).
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of BD processes, tools, and best practices.
Requirements
- · Bachelor’s degree or above in Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology), Business, or a related field.
- · 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, key account management, or commercial support, preferably in pharma/biotech, CDMO, CRO, or related healthcare services.
- · Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered
- · Experience in the life sciences industry with preference given to pharmaceutical industry including clinical, CDMO and bioprocessing
- · Strong communication and presentation skills; able to interact professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
- · Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills, including basic financial/commercial analysis.
- · Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is an advantage.
- · Self‑motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
- · Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously.
- · Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- · Ability to travel as required
