Senior Finance Administrator – Cash Management - 12 Month FTC at The Law Debenture Group in Manchester, Greater Manchester

Job description

• This is a 12-month FTC role and is part of the Cash Management Dept, reporting into the Finance Shared Service Manager. This is a pivotal role, working closely with the Finance Team based in London, Accounts Payable and Credit Control on the cashbook and collections processes.

Responsibilities

• Update cashbooks daily and apply all cash inbound and outbound in SAGE Intacct.
• Set-up the weekly banking payments as directed by the Accountant: Accounts Payable, London Finance Team
• Review and action any daily banking requirements such a FX deals and transfers
• Daily reporting on balances cross all bank accounts
• Action any exceptional manual payment requests ensuring these are approved in line with LawDeb DOA
• Any queries which require investigation should be escalated to the appropriate Management team.
• Daily NAV (Net Asset Value) preparation for the investment portfolio
• Ensuring that postings to the suspense account are minimised and collaborate with wider Finance team to ensure resolved within SLA
• Ad hoc Finance tasks as required by the Group Accountant, Technical Accountant and the Management Accountant.
• Ensure internal controls are operating and monitored
• Preparation of management information and KPIs
• Review and maintain procedure documentation for the team to ensure ongoing effectiveness and accuracy
• Support and adhere to audit requests as instructed by Shared Service Director
• Review and implement process improvements as and when required
• Contribute to the development of the Finance team processes to ensure these are cohesive, efficient and effective.
• Undertake training and development as appropriate and engage fully in the performance management process.
• Contribute to the Law Deb culture positively, attend meetings as required, and carry out duties willingly and diligently
• Where regulatory rules apply, abide by these in spirit and fact

Requirements

• Experience working within a Finance, Cash Management, Treasury, Banking or Shared Services environment.
• Experience of online banking administration, including payment preparation, bank transfers and general banking activities.
• Experience of maintaining cashbooks, processing cash receipts and completing accurate financial records.
• Good understanding of financial controls and the importance of compliance, accuracy and appropriate authorisation.
• Experience of working with finance/accounting systems and maintaining accurate financial data.
• Ability to investigate financial discrepancies and identify when issues need to be escalated to the appropriate colleague.
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct and/or SAP Concur (preferred – not essential)
• Diligent, analytical with excellent attention to detail without loss of pace
• Outstanding numeracy, data management and manipulation skills
• Strong communication skills and an inquisitive mind
• IT literate, including strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Takes full ownership for the delivery of tasks
