Responsibilities
- This role sits within an integrated PK/PD, Toxicology, and Biomarker platform supporting translational drug development. You'll gain exposure to novel drug modalities (ADC, IO, cell therapy, etc) and collaborate cross-functionally with PK/PD and toxicology scientists, building a well-rounded understanding of preclinical and translational drug development.
- Independently perform, analyze, and interpret pathology and tissue-based biomarker assays, including IHC , IF/multiplex IF, and RNAscope or ISH, etc.
- Review IHC/histopathology sections and analyze IHC and mIF results, including image capture, scoring analysis, and scientific interpretation.
- Conduct image analysis and data interpretation using AI-based platforms such as HALO and HALO AI; support algorithm development and validation for quantitative biomarker analysis.
- Support the development, optimization, troubleshooting, and validation of IHC/pathology and biomarker assays.
- Support advanced spatial pathology and multiplex imaging workflows. Experience with Akoya platforms, such as OPAL multiplex IF, PhenoImager, or related spatial biology technologies, is preferred.
- Support pathology platform R&D activities, including development of new biomarker assays, multiplex panels, digital pathology workflows, and spatial biology capabilities.
- Support pathology and biomarker studies for ADC, immuno-oncology, targeted therapy, small-molecule, and other drug discovery programs.
- Communicate effectively with customers, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders in China and globally.
- Draft study protocols, assay plans, data summaries, and final study reports, and deliver high-quality data to customers in a timely manner.
- Provide technical training and guidance to new employees and junior team members.
- Complete other assignments from upper management.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in pathology, veterinary pathology, immunology, cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, medicine, veterinary medicine, or a related field.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in cancer biomarkers, molecular biology, histopathology, veterinary medicine, or tissue-based biomarker assays.
- Experience in preclinical drug discovery, CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or translational research environments is preferred.
- Proficient in core molecular biology and histopathology techniques, including IHC, IF, ISH/RNAscope, etc.
- Hands-on experience with complex/advanced pathology platforms such as Multiplex IF and spatial biology platform is preferred.
- Familiarity with digital pathology image analysis platforms (e.g., HALO, HALO AI) is highly preferred.
- Understanding of digital pathology applications in ADC, IO, targeted therapy, and small-molecule drug development is strong preferred.
- Capable of independently performing experiments, analyzing data, troubleshooting technical issues, and drafting scientific study reports.
- Detail-oriented with strong data management and documentation practices.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to interface directly with global customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated, efficient, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
