• Accelerant is building a fundamentally new way for MGAs to operate. Through agentic AI, we are helping our Member MGAs transform insurance operations to be more intelligent, scalable, and effective. The Agentic MGA Forward Deployed Underwriter will turn that vision into reality by redefining each program’s underwriting approach for the agentic era from idea to production.
• You will work with MGA executives, insurance experts, and a cross-functional project team to define requirements, guide delivery, and get programs live. This is a high-ownership opportunity to shape Accelerant’s future and establish how agentic AI comes to life inside an MGA.
• Agentic MGA programs launch with underwriting integrity intact so questions, forms, rates, and rules reflect how risk should be selected
• Member MGAs adopt the new underwriting and risk selection model with confidence,
• Programs get simpler and sharper over time: rules, rates, and forms improve from implementation, portfolio, and loss experience, not only from process tweaks
• Each launch raises the bar for the next with clearer appetite, fewer weak rules, faster path from UW judgment to a working agentic system
• The Agentic MGA Forward Deployed Underwriter will help prove what is possible when insurance expertise, technology, and agentic AI come together. Your work will shape how Accelerant grows, how our Member MGAs operate, and how the insurance industry evolves.

Responsibilities

• Own each Agentic MGA program end-to-end, from underwriting and product design through launch, and stay accountable for what goes live
• Drive program enhancement and simplification by digging into underwriting questions, forms, rates, rules, appetite, and eligibility to translate underwriting judgment into clear requirements and decisions
• Lead senior conversations with MGA underwriting and product leaders
• Partner with forward deployed engineers and the MGA to encode coverages, rating logic, rules, and workflows into an agentic underwriting system
• Own UAT: readiness criteria, issue triage, rule/form/rate validation, stakeholder sign-off, and training so MGA underwriters can run the product and system with confidence
• Maintain a relentless bias for execution and measurable Member value in risk selection and launch outcomes

Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of relevant P&C insurance and technology experience
• A track record leading complex, cross-functional implementation, or transformation programs
• Credibility with insurance professionals and confidence leading senior client conversations
• Technical fluency and experience partnering closely with underwriting and engineering teams
• Exceptional prioritization, structured problem solving, follow-through, and bias for execution
• Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to unblock yourself and your team
• Bachelor’s degree required
