Job description

• Total Highspeed is a local internet service provider in Nixa, MO. We provide fast, reliable internet for our local SWMO communities. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and motivated Administrative / Staff Accountant to support both the day-to-day administrative functions and accounting operations of the organization. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and the ability to identify needs, take initiative, and follow tasks through to completion. This role will work closely with management and other team members and will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, and accountability.
• The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, organized, and accountable. They are someone who sees what needs to be done and takes action, rather than waiting to be told. They should be comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with accounting duties and should have the confidence and leadership skills to work independently while supporting the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Accounting
• Perform routine accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial processes.
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
• Assist with preparation of financial reports and other accounting information.
• Monitor outstanding invoices, payments, and account balances.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and records.
• Assist with audits, tax-related documentation, and other financial reporting as needed.
• Administrative
• Provide administrative support to management and staff.
• Maintain organized records, files, reports, and correspondence.
• Assist with scheduling, data entry, document preparation, and general office operations.
• Manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and management.
• Identify administrative needs and take initiative to address them without waiting for direction.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, administration, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to learn accounting software and other business systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and professional judgment. Ability to lead multiple departments and personality types.
• Degree or coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience with accounting softwares
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger functions.
• Previous experience in an administrative/accounting support role.
• Experience working with government grants and audits.
