Senior Manager, IT Operations – India at Seismic in IN-Hyderabad

• Seismic is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT leader to serve as the senior technical presence for our India offices. This is not a pure people-management role — it is a high-level systems administration position with a people-leadership component . The Senior Manager, IT Operations will be the final escalation point for all technical IT issues in India, personally own day-to-day operations and troubleshooting, and lead a team spanning systems administration and helpdesk/support by doing the work alongside them — not simply directing others to do it.
• This role operates under Seismic’s India dual solid-line operating model: the Senior Manager reports solid-line to the Sr. Director, IT (functional direction, standards, and technical strategy) and solid-line to the India GM (day-to-day people management, coaching, hiring within budget, and local escalations).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the final escalation point for all technical IT issues across Seismic’s India offices, spanning systems, network, endpoint, identity, and helpdesk-tier issues.
• Own day-to-day IT operations for India — infrastructure administration, incident response, and end-user support — personally diagnosing and resolving issues rather than only assigning them.
• Directly manage, coach, and mentor India-based IT staff across both systems administration/integrations and helpdesk/support, setting the standard by leading from the front.
• Partner closely with the Sr. Director, IT and global IT functional leads to align India execution with global IT strategy, standards, and tooling (Jamf/Intune, Azure AD, Freshservice, Rapid7, 1Password, and similar).
• Own local hiring, performance management, and workload prioritization for the India IT team within approved budget, consistent with the India GM operating model.
• Drive local IT security posture and compliance execution (patching, endpoint management, incident response) in partnership with global Security and IT leadership.
• Identify and implement automation and self-service improvements (Workato, Freshservice Service Catalog, AI tools) to reduce ticket volume and manual effort rather than defaulting to added headcount or process.
• Provide clear, timely communication to global IT leadership on India IT health, risks, incidents, and escalations.
• Represent India IT in regional and global operating rhythms as needed.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on IT systems administration, infrastructure, or end-user support experience, including current, active technical work — not purely managerial.
• 3+ years leading or mentoring a technical team, ideally spanning both systems administration and helpdesk/support functions.
• Working knowledge of core enterprise IT tooling: identity/SSO (Azure AD), MDM (Jamf and/or Intune), ITSM/ticketing (Freshservice or similar), major cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and security tooling.
• A demonstrated track record as a doer — someone who resolves issues directly and leads by example, not someone who only delegates.
• Experience operating within a US-headquartered multinational’s India office; SaaS or enterprise software company experience preferred.
• Comfortable operating in a matrixed, dual solid-line reporting structure, balancing global functional direction with local execution and people leadership.
• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills under time pressure.
• Clear, direct communicator, able to escalate risk transparently to both local and global stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
