Job description

• We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our finance & accounting team. In this role, you will take ownership of our general ledger, lead month-end close processes, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of GAAP, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of improving accounting workflows.
• This is a hybrid position based out of our Tampa, FL headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Month-End Close: Assist the close process by creating journal entries, tracking fixed assets, and managing accruals.
• Reconciliations: Perform complex balance sheet, bank, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure general ledger accuracy.
• Auditing & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing necessary schedules, workflows, and supporting documentation.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate current accounting procedures and recommend ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance, review work, and help train junior accounting staff.
• Ad-Hoc Analysis: Assist management with budgeting, variance analysis, and special financial projects as needed.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years of professional accounting experience; prior experience in a senior or lead role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) Google Sheets and experience with ERP systems. A plus if (Great Plains, OneStream, BNA, CoStar, Blackline).
• Certifications: CPA a strong plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
