• We're looking for a Payment Operations Associate to support Rho's day-to-day payment processing. You'll process client repayments, issue rewards and credits, resolve payment exceptions, and keep credit and card program settings up to date, working alongside Credit Risk, Client Services, Fraud, Compliance, and our partner bank. The work is deadline-driven and detail-oriented, and it feeds directly into client statements and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Process client repayments. Run recurring ACH pulls for monthly credit repayments on a fixed due-date schedule, handling non-standard accounts manually, and process interim payments as they arise. Confirm each payment is captured accurately from initiation through posting.
• Issue rewards, credits, and incentives. Calculate and release cashback rewards on a set monthly schedule, reconcile against system-generated figures, and process statement credits, sign-up bonuses, and promotional incentives with the appropriate review and approval. Provide cashback breakdowns to clients on request.
• Maintain credit and card program settings. Update client credit limits, payment terms, statement cycles and custom pricing, keeping records consistent across systems and documenting every change.
• Manage wire operations. Handle wire trace requests, recalls, returns, and non-posted wires with our partner bank, and administer enrollments and limit changes for drawdown wire services.
• Manage ACH operations. Initiate ACH returns and reversals in line with NACHA rules, applying the correct return code and meeting NACHA return/reversal timeframes that apply to each request.
• Support fraud and credit review. Expedite settlement on transactions once Fraud or Credit has approved them, and hold transactions for review when something looks unusual. Manage RDC returns with outreach to the relevant teams, and set the appropriate settlement delay or instant release on credit repayments based on client credit risk.
• Report on delinquency. Produce a weekly past-due report for Credit Risk, Finance, Client Services, and Fraud, monitor 30-day credit repayment returns and overdue balances daily, and escalate for client outreach.
• Route compliance, fraud and legal escalations. Flag sanctions-related inquiries from our partner bank to the right internal teams, forward legal notices to Legal, coordinate Letter of Indemnity and Hold Harmless requests with the Fraud team and request limit increases when transaction thresholds are reached.
• Support our Letter of Credit program. Coordinate Standby Letters of Credit with our partner bank, fund the collateral account, process the associated fees, and provide Client Services with the figures for month-end fee statements.
• Improve the process. Identify manual steps worth automating, keep procedure documentation current, and partner with Product and Engineering to close gaps in payment workflows.

Requirements

• 2+ years in payment operations, banking operations, treasury operations, or a similar function at a fintech, bank, or payment processor.
• Working knowledge of payment rails — ACH, Fedwire, RTP, card networks, and remote deposit — and what happens when a payment fails, returns, or settles late.
• Exceptional attention to detail. You reconcile before you release, and you catch the transposed digit.
• Comfort with recurring hard deadlines and high transaction volume without losing accuracy.
• Hands-on with operational tooling: ticketing systems (Jira), BI dashboards (Looker), spreadsheets, and bank portals. SQL is a plus, not a requirement.
• Clear written communicator. Much of this role is coordinating across Credit Risk, Client Services, Fraud, and Compliance in writing.
• Sound judgment on escalation. You know which items you can resolve and which need Fraud, Credit, or Legal before you touch them.
