• An established litigation defense practice is seeking an organized, proactive Legal Assistant to provide core operational and administrative support to its legal team. This essential role drives daily case workflows by managing attorney calendars, scheduling depositions and hearings, handling court e-filings, and maintaining regular communication with clients and insurance adjusters. Designed for a sharp legal administrative professional, this role offers direct involvement in case coordination within a structured and supportive law firm setting.

Responsibilities

• Schedule depositions, court hearings, mediations, and trial-related events.
• Maintain full familiarity with assigned case details, clients, judge preferences, and court rules.
• Proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence with high precision.
• Perform e-filings with court portals and manage attorney calendars around filing deadlines.
• Process, organize, name, and calendar incoming mail and legal notices.
• Ensure accurate adherence to client reporting guidelines and prompt invoice processing.
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, and court personnel.
• Utilize legal practice management and office software to maintain daily case efficiency.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; formal post-secondary legal administration training preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant, ideally in insurance defense or medical malpractice.
• Solid working knowledge of court procedures, judge preferences, and e-filing portals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems.
• Familiarity with insurance client reporting and billing guidelines.
• A highly organized, proactive legal administrative professional with flawless proofreading and calendar management skills. Communicates effectively across all levels, manages confidential case information with discretion, and handles competing deadlines effortlessly.
