- Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking a Distributor Sales Representative to join its team. This role will be based at our Hanover, MD location and will cover Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia. This exciting opportunity provides responsibility for managing distributor growth, inventory optimization, and sales performance within an assigned territory. The role offers direct engagement with channel partners and collaboration with sales leadership to execute territory growth strategies and improve distributor performance.
Responsibilities
- The primary function of Distributor Sales Representative is to manage and demonstrate strong knowledge of the assigned channel partners within the territory to increase sales in the local marketplace and provide sales and technical assistance. This position will be responsible for directly interfacing with distributors within their territory by providing a variety of sales support and administrative services in inventory management.

- • You will be responsible for managing growth in distributor stock sales for the capitol markets
- • You will partner with the regional channel director, sales engineers and sales manager/director on a territory channel strategy and plan each year; and effectively execute this plan against set targets
- • You will continuously support customer issue resolution
- • You will make recommendations to management and channel director to increase effectiveness of initiatives and programs
- • You will track and measure distributor growth using sales reporting tools and review stock levels with each channel partner on an on-going basis.
- • You will strategically evaluate and optimize inventory at assigned distributors to ensure adequate levels of standard control and distribution equipment products to maximize sales.
- • You will make recommendations on product changes, layout changes, and stock levels to optimize Eaton's position.
- • You will independently develop and implement action plans targeted at year over year growth and agreed performance levels.
- • You will make recommendations to management and channel director regarding potential challenges or issues on a case-by-case basis, offering solutions and pro-actively scheduling joint sales calls.
- • You will train distributors on how to use internal programs including but not limited to Order Center, Project Center, Bid Manager, and the Commitments program
Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- • Minimum 1 year of technical and commercial field experience
- • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- • No relocation assistance will be provided for this role. Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Hanover, MD. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

- The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $85,200 - $124,800.
- Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
