- Pay Rate: C$75.00–C$90.00 / Hour (CAD)
- Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours — 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
- Travel Requirements: Not required
- This role provides support and produces detailed system requirements and technical/functional specifications in alignment with standards and frameworks. The Business Systems Analyst works in close partnership with business partners, technology teams, pod members, and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and manage detailed business systems requirements. The scope of the project encompasses transaction details including credit cards, deposit accounts, data migration and integrations, and data mapping. The team consists of 24 people total — 8–12 people per pod — and the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running following TD onboarding, knowledge transfer, and shadowing.
Responsibilities
- Develop effective and efficient solutions by researching/analyzing current state system capabilities and defining technology solutions options/recommendations working closely with key technology partners (e.g., Solution Architects and Quality Assurance staff)
- Define, document and translate business requirements into detailed level user stories including functional specifications and non-functional specifications
- Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing
- Support and contribute to agile ceremonies/activities by participating in the standups, story refinements and estimating of feature efforts, risks identification and mitigation measures recommendation, communicating activity status and providing timely notification and escalation of possible issues/problems to the pod
- Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
- Collaborate with pod members and key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration
- Provide operational/process related analysis and support to various extents
- Ensure best practices related to the BSA discipline are adhered to and enforced within project processes and deliverables
- Adhere to TD processes/standards including requirements management and project management disciplines, well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards, and business technology architecture, escalating issues as required
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technologies trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
- Continuously enhance knowledge of business domains and their products/services
- Maintain ongoing communication with all stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Able to perform BSA tasks effectively while assigned to a single project or multiple concurrent projects
- Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality requirements/user stories and meet timelines
- Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest
- Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
- Coach new or less experienced colleagues and act as a reference for the requirements management lifecycle

Requirements
- 10 years of BSA experience
- Thorough understanding of API (back-end systems, documentation)
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence
- Agile delivery experience
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) — comfortable working with both Business and Technical teams
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills

- Works independently as the senior or lead system analyst and coaches/guides members within area of expertise
- Subject matter expert who consults with clients and/or project teams and may be involved in the assessment of potential projects
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Engineering is an asset
- Agile certification is an asset
