Senior Accountant - Corporate Reporting at Megaport in Brisbane, Queensland

• Reporting to the Corporate Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Megaport’s reporting framework. This role elevates beyond standard month-end ledger consolidations to focus directly on key reporting deliverables: leading the project implementation of Megaport’s ESG and sustainability reporting framework, executing complex technical accounting assessments, and driving the global statutory reporting process.
• Working closely with the Corporate Reporting Manager, CFO, external auditors, and global teams, you will perform first-level reviews of financial statements for overseas subsidiaries and ensure compliance with emerging technical standards (including AASB S1/S2 climate disclosures and IFRS updates). You will combine strong technical precision with cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality, investor-grade disclosures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sustainability Reporting: Lead the design and implementation of Megaport’s sustainability reporting framework, establishing data-gathering processes aligned with AASB S1/S2 climate disclosure requirements and global ESG reporting standards.
• Global Statutory Reporting: Oversee the delivery of annual statutory financial statements across Megaport’s international subsidiary entities. Perform first-level reviews of financial statements and work papers prepared by local accounting teams and outsourced compliance partners.
• Technical Accounting: Lead the preparation of technical accounting papers for complex transactions, new IFRS/AASB accounting standards, and group policy updates to support the business and satisfy auditor requirements.
• External & ASX Reporting: Support the Corporate Reporting Manager in drafting interim and annual financial reports, board packs, and ASX market disclosures.
• Audit Management: Act as a key technical liaison for external auditors during interim and year-end audits, coordinating audit deliverables and resolving complex technical queries.
• Process Improvement: Identify and drive automation and process improvement initiatives across group reporting, international compliance, and ESG workflows.

Requirements

• CA or CPA qualification (essential).
• 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in financial reporting, statutory accounting, or technical accounting advisory, gained within a public-listed corporate or a Big 4/mid-tier audit background.
• Strong technical IFRS knowledge, with demonstrated experience preparing complex technical accounting papers.
• Solid understanding of, or active exposure to, corporate ESG/sustainability reporting standards (e.g., AASB S1/S2 or ISSB).
• Experience reviewing international statutory accounts and managing outsourced accounting or compliance service providers across global jurisdictions.
• Track record of supporting ASX (or equivalent listed) reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical, project management, and written communication skills with the confidence to communicate technical concepts to executive stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and step out of day-to-day transaction processing to focus on elevated reporting requirements.
