DWPF Operations - Maintenance Support Specialist III or Sr. Ops. - Maint. Support Spec. I or II at Savannah River Mission Completion in US-SC-Aiken

Job description

• Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an DWPF Operations - Maintenance Support Specialist III or Sr. Ops. - Maint. Support Spec. I or II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

• The DWPF Operations - Maintenance Support Specialist III or Sr. Ops. - Maint. Support Spec. I or II provides general direction, guidance, analysis, coordination and/or support to operations, maintenance, and support organizations. These functions will typically be in direct or indirect support of a specific facility (or facilities), location or functional area. Administers and/or oversees operational programs. This position will report to DWPF Maintenance Management.

Responsibilities

• Using considerable subject matter knowledge, provides feedback, recommendations, administration, coordination, and/or professional support on a variety of activities such as; audits, drills, assessments, process improvement, surveillances, inspections, walk downs, outages, compliance, predictive/preventive maintenance, cost/budget, communications, planning, scheduling, training, systems, performance metrics and other facility/area/programmatic initiatives and assignments
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Maintenance Mechanics to support skill development and consistent execution of maintenance standards.
• Support M&TE and IPI coordination
• Reviews technical and non-technical work documents for compliance, accuracy, appropriateness, completeness, and safety including, but not limited to, procedures, work packages, lockout/tagout plans, work products, checklists, white papers, presentations, and program documents in support of operations, maintenance, and project work evolutions associated with operation of an area or facility
• Implements small/moderately sized programs and improvement initiatives
• Performs walk downs, inspections, observations, and/or evaluations to ensure safe and efficient operation. Problem-solves as issues arise
• Performs analysis on equipment and components providing meaningful conclusions
• Coordinates and plans cross functional activities between construction, operations, work control, maintenance, projects and other relevant areas.
• Coordinates materials/waste handling, storage and disposition
• Provides technical or professional support for maintenance activities including facility system assessments, equipment maintenance and functional testing. Develops, implements and documents corrective actions for identified systems and equipment deficiencies and failures.
• Interprets and communicates site, company and/or departmental procedures or protocols
• May function in a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Additional responsibilities as a Senior Operations - Maintenance Support Specialist I:
• Implements small to large sized programs and improvement initiatives
• Performs walk downs, inspections, observations, and/or evaluations to ensure safe and efficient operation. Problem-solves as issues arise. Identifies and recommends key areas of improvement
• Performs advanced analysis on equipment and components providing meaningful conclusions and action plans
• Superuser and administrator of information systems and business applications including activities such as configuration management, system maintenance, upgrades, data integrity, analysis, and report/query development. Trains others on use of systems
• Additional responsibilities as a Senior Operations - Maintenance Support Specialist II:
• Creates, reviews and/or edits complex technical and non-technical work documents for compliance, accuracy, quality, completeness, and safety including, but not limited to, procedures, work packages, lockout/tagout plans, work products, checklists, white papers, presentations, and program documents in support of operations, maintenance, and project work evolutions associated with operation of an area or facility. Ensures compliance with company, Site and/or DOE guidelines and protocols
• Leads and implements small to large sized, complex programs and improvement initiatives
• Performs walk downs, inspections, observations, and/or evaluations to ensure safe and efficient operation. Problem-solves as issues arise. Identifies deficiencies, issues or improvements and creates action plan to implement
• Performs involved, cross functional inquiries, fact and information gathering pertaining to abnormal facility events or other occurrences in support of issue investigations which includes participation/facilitation of Fact Finding and Issue Investigation meetings. Documents and incorporates responses, recommendations, and situational and root cause factors.
• Plans and/or leads cross functional activities between construction, operations, work control, maintenance, projects and other relevant areas
• Provides advanced technical or professional support for operational/maintenance activities including facility system assessments, equipment maintenance and functional testing. Develops, implements and documents corrective actions for identified systems and equipment deficiencies and failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related as outlined in the job description; or
• Bachelor’s degree in non-technical or non-relevant discipline and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related as outlined in the job description; or
• Associates degree and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related as outlined in the job description; or
• High School Diploma/GED and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related as outlined in the job description
• Candidate(s) selected to receive an offer will be offered the position level commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree
• Previous Maintenance mechanic qualification or equivalent maintenance experience
