Job description

• Tyndale is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer III to lead automation and delivery initiatives that support the full lifecycle of our custom-developed software. This is a senior technical role with the opportunity to influence how applications move from development through QA and into production while improving the tools, automation, and practices that make software delivery more reliable and efficient.
• You’ll partner closely with Development, QA, and Infrastructure to strengthen CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, testing environments, application reliability, and operational practices. As a senior technical resource, you’ll also help shape DevOps roadmaps, evaluate emerging technologies, troubleshoot complex issues, and share your expertise across the IT team.
• HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This opportunity requires onsite work a minimum of 1 day per week, and 4 days per week remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our corporate headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County).

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of custom-developed software from Development through QA and into production, ensuring reliable and efficient deployments.
• Design, build, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, deployment processes, and supporting tools.
• Partner with Development, QA, and Infrastructure to provide effective environments, troubleshoot complex application and deployment issues, and improve overall software delivery.
• Influence software architecture and deployment approaches to improve application maintainability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Design and maintain integration-pipeline testing and production validation processes that support dependable software releases.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health and performance, investigate issues, and drive appropriate resolution and continuous improvement.
• Lead DevOps automation initiatives and contribute to technology roadmaps, including evaluating emerging technologies, tools, vendors, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Serve as a senior technical resource, providing guidance, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and training on DevOps tools and delivery practices.
• Maintain clear technical documentation and support maintenance, upgrades, and deployment activities outside normal business hours when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant study in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field is beneficial.
• 4–6 years of relevant professional experience required.
• Proficiency designing, building, and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Bamboo, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code and configuration automation, including technologies such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Proficiency with scripting and source control technologies, such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, Git, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience supporting AWS infrastructure, multiple application environments, integration/production validation, and Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance to others.
• Experience with technologies such as Jira/Confluence, Docker/Kubernetes, Redis, virtualization platforms, and networking concepts preferred.
