• Corporate Counsel - Litigation
• An hour north of Denver and ideally situated between Boulder, Fort Collins, and Greeley, JBS is the largest company headquartered in Colorado and one of the largest food companies in the world. We are seeking a motivated and proactive attorney to join our legal team, with a focus on litigation and disputes with the intellectual curiosity and agility to handle a wide variety of complex legal matters involving varied business units and operations.
• In this role, you will draw upon your experience to strategically and efficiently manage litigation and other disputes from inception to completion. You will work closely with executives, business unit leaders, department heads, and other teams across the Company to address and resolve legal matters, support business goals, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage numerous and varied legal disputes in multiple jurisdictions
• Actively engage in all facets of case management, including investigation, assessment, strategy, and resolution
• Supervise, direct, and collaborate with outside counsel, including case strategy, motions practice, discovery, mediation, and trial preparation
• Actively engage with company’s risk management department concerning coverage issues and assist with first-party claims
• Actively engage with company’s third-party administrator to coordinate case management
• Assist with outside counsel guidelines, developing budgets, matter staffing, and developing alternative fee arrangements
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws
• Provide clear legal advice and practical business-focused solutions while preserving and protecting the Company’s integrity and reputation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school with a strong academic record.
• Minimum 7 years of civil litigation experience; 10+ preferred.
• Combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred.
• The ideal candidate will have expertise in personal injury and/or trucking and transportation litigation, and experience in managing a large portfolio of the same.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Colorado Bar, or in another U.S. state with eligibility for admission on motion to Colorado.
• Excellent strategic and analytical skills and judgment, particularly in determining the significance of legal issues in tandem with business objectives.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and flexibility.
• The ability to work well independently as well as on a team, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at all levels throughout the Company.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications and presentations to the specific intended audience in a way that is clear, concise, and persuasive.
• Ability to embody and project both confidence and humility.

• As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. • The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
• Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
• Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
• 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
• Base salary range of $150,000 - $175,000;
• Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
