HR Generalist | TWC at TW Constructors in St. Louis, Missouri

Job description

• We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented HR Generalist to provide dedicated support for HR administration and employee-related responsibilities across our growing organization. This role will support employees throughout the employment lifecycle, help maintain consistent HR processes, and allow the HR and payroll functions to operate independently while continuing to collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support employee onboarding, orientation, status changes, transfers, and offboarding processes
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HR information system
• Process HR-related documentation and communicate employee changes to payroll and other appropriate departments
• Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, benefits, procedures, and general employment questions
• Assist with benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, employee communications, and vendor coordination
• Support employee relations matters by gathering information, maintaining documentation, and escalating concerns as appropriate
• Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies and procedures
• Monitor completion of required employment documents, training, certifications, and acknowledgments
• Support performance management activities, including review cycles, corrective-action documentation, and employee development initiatives
• Assist with leave administration and coordinate employee requests in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements
• Prepare HR reports and maintain accurate employee data across multiple operating companies
• Respond to employment verification and personnel information requests in accordance with company procedures
• Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, and company-wide HR initiatives
• Provide administrative support for audits, compliance reviews, and other HR projects
• Collaborate with payroll, recruiting, accounting, safety, and operational leadership to support employees and organizational needs
• Perform additional HR and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2–4 years of human resources, employee administration, or related experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Working knowledge of employee onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and HR compliance
• Familiarity with federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience maintaining employee records and working within an HR information system preferred
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a growing organization
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to professionally communicate with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with HR, payroll, and operational teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• HR certification, such as SHRM-CP or PHR, preferred but not required
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with company policy
