Job description

• The Placement and Billing team manages end‑to‑end pre‑placement compliance activities, ensuring all Know Your Customer and Sanctions Screening requirements are completed in line with regional regulatory standards. This includes reviewing client documentation, validating trade licenses, conducting due diligence checks, updating compliance worksheets, and coordinating with brokers and stakeholders to obtain additional requirements or approvals.
• Alongside compliance responsibilities, the team also manages end‑to‑end billing operations, including invoice processing, query resolution, turnaround time monitoring, and ensuring the accuracy of billing data captured in monthly Management Information packs. Through strong governance, timely reviews, and effective coordination across teams, the Placement and Billing function supports compliant placements and efficient billing operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key liaison between Broking, Claims, Accounting, Marine Operations, and Mumbai teams, ensuring seamless coordination across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Mumbai.
• Maintain effective communication across multiple time zones, prioritising critical business needs and ensuring timely stakeholder engagement.
• Support and manage strategic client and insurer relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for key issues and driving resolution within agreed timelines.
• Lead operational issue resolution by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and providing visibility into business activities and customer interactions.
• Facilitate regular business and operational review meetings, tracking actions, risks, challenges, exceptions, and ensuring transparent communication with all stakeholders.
• Drive portfolio data management, renewal analysis, weekly Singapore and Hong Kong premium tracking, and business performance reporting.
• Proactively monitor urgent matters and ensure timely escalation to senior management in Singapore and Mumbai when required.
• Track and report on key performance indicators, operational metrics, and business performance against defined targets.
• Manage bad debt and receivables reporting, Microsoft Dynamics 365 opportunity and pipeline tracking, broking platform data quality, compliance activities, and Know Your Customer administration.
• Provide support for business development activities, tenders, ad hoc business analysis, placements, and client initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
• Build strong relationships within the broking, claims, accounting, and operations community while demonstrating a proactive and collaborative approach to issue management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Experience in Marine insurance, including premium processing, claims management, and accounting operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve complex issues across all organisational levels.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to drive outcomes remotely.
• Sound understanding of escalation procedurxes and effective business communication channels.
• Strong planning, prioritisation, and workload management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities effectively.
• Good working knowledge of internal and external processes across Placement and Broking, Claims, Accounting and Settlement, Know Your Customer, and related operational functions.
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of enhanced practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to issue resolution and continuous improvement.
• Good understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, with the ability to effectively manage operational stakeholder relationships across business functions.
• Ensure adherence to audit, compliance, and regulatory obligations by collaborating with Mumbai and regional business teams to maintain governance standards and support business objectives.
