• Grossberg Company LLP, a mid-sized Washington DC area CPA firm, is a premier provider of accounting, tax and business consulting services. We provide a solid, friendly work environment for our employees and we are seeking a skilled Tax Manager to join our team in North Bethesda, Maryland.
• The Tax Manager will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor within the firm. This individual will review complex tax returns, provide guidance on tax planning strategies, oversee engagement teams, and collaborate directly with Partners to deliver exceptional client service. The ideal candidate is an experienced public accounting professional with strong technical expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Review complex federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and individuals.
• Provide tax planning, consulting, and strategic guidance to clients and their businesses.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong, long-term relationships.
• Work closely with Partners on client matters, engagement management, and tax strategy.
• Research and analyze complex tax issues and communicate recommendations clearly and effectively.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and senior accountants.
• Review workpapers and ensure engagements are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve client operations, tax positions, and overall financial outcomes.
• Stay current on tax law changes and emerging developments affecting clients and the profession.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 15+ years of public accounting tax experience preferred.
• Significant experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing tax engagements.
• Strong technical tax research and writing skills.
• Experience working directly with business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor professionals, and manage client relationships.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Partners and colleagues.

• Minimum Annual Salary $100,000 - Maximum Annual Salary $200,000
